Dallas Twestival Sponsorship

What is Twestival?
Twestival is a series tweet-ups with a social conscience - The events organised quarterly aim to bring together London’s vibrant digital media community, giving those who are normally communicating through Twitter the opportunity to meet each other face to face and build on the relationships they have made online.  At the same time through corporate sponsorship and activities at the events Twestival aims to raise money for internet based charities.

An Important Foundation
The first Twestival took place on Thursday 25 September at Doon Bar, Trafalgar Square and was attended by over 200 early adopters who raising money for The Connection at St Martins In Fields http://www.connection-at-stmartins.org.uk/

In addition to the money raised – the event created a natural online buzz as members of the digital media community blogged and tweeted extensively around the event.  The strength of this viral effect was demonstrated on 25th September (the day of the event) when the term Twestival was one of the most blogged about terms worldwide http://blog.twitter.com/search?q=twestival

This viral buzz not only raised important awareness for the charity but also for sponsors of the event who received significant traffic from the Twestival website.

“As an early sponsor Huddle benefited tremendously from getting involved in Twestival. Apart from kudos and having our name associated with a fantastic and wonderfully organised event with a social conscience, we received more than 100+ visits directly from the Twestival site, not counting all traffic via Twitter. Twestival is a great initiative and we’re very happy to have been a part of it.”
Zuzanna Pasierbinska-Wilson, Head of Marketing Communications, Huddle.net

A Celebration of Tweets
In addition to raising important funds for good causes, Twestival also celebrates the growing social phenomena of microblogging.

The music for the inaugural Twestival was provided by musicians from Twitters thriving music scene. And the event was made truly interactive as attendees were invited to suggest songs they wanted to hear on the night through blip.fm.  The organising team are looking to take this to the next level with February’s event.

The organisers of the second Twestival are looking to build on the success of September’s event bringing together the ever growing London digital media community for a good cause.

This year for the first time Twestival will be a worldwide event with over 170 cities worldwide holding their own Twestival.  Dallas will feature live music by local bands, food and drink, a raffle, WiFi, feeds from other global events, a free film, a show at Hyena’s Comedy Club, and friendly, engaged Dallasites united to “Tweet. Meet. Give.”

This year we will be raising money for Charity:Water.  Charity:Water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations by funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need.

Right now 1.1 billion people on the planet don’t have access to safe, clean drinking water. That’s one in six of us.

Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

Many communities in developing nations often have a plentiful supply of clean drinking water just below the ground, but no way to get to it.

This is where charity: water and their partner organizations come in. Drilling a well can cost from $4,000 - $12,000 USD and many living on less than $1 a day cannot afford one in their community, even if the money is combined.

Sponsorship
Given the success of last year’s event both for our chosen charity and our sponsors we have prepared a selection of sponsorship packages which we hope will enable us to make the most of their support for the event.

This year we are offering three Primary partner packages worth $1000 each which will entitle partners to provide marketing materials at the party in addition to promotion online through the Twestival website Twitter feed and Facebook group.

Additionally we are offering six online sponsorship packages worth $500 each which will give partners the opportunity to benefit from promotion online through the Dallas Twestival website Twitter feed and Facebook group.

Individuals may contribute at the $250 or $500 levels:
- Well Builder ($500), entitling you to provide marketing materials at the event and being featured in all promotion
- Partner ($250), giving you the opportunity to benefit from all online promotions

The venue for this year’s Twestival has also given the organizers unprecedented opportunities to project live footage onto the walls of the venue where all sponsor logos will be featured.
